  • Belt Tying

    • Wraps should be stacked and neat

    • No visible cross in the back

    • Knot is correct with belts ends coming out of the sides and falling down

  • Lead Front Kick

    • Chamber, kick, and placement (some students will struggle with rechamber)

    • Hands are kept up

    • Toes are pulled back, striking with the Ball of the foot

    • Kick is pushed not snapped

  • Palm Heel

    • Hand is open

    • Fingers are together (including the thumb)

    • Strike with the bottom of the palm

  • Taikyoku Part 1 & 2

    • Move order is correct

    • Stance shape and length is accurate

    • Sequencing is accurate (Head, Hips, Hands)

    • Chambers are tight and positioned well (down blocks)

    • Punches are straight from chamber

  • Wrist Escape

    • Weak finger connection is exposed first

    • Push and pull happen at the same time

    • Push and pull are done in the correct orientation

  • Footwork

    • Guard stance is correct

    • Feet are not crossed during movements

    • One foot is always on the floor

    • When pivoting positions make sure ball of the foot is contact point
