This week at EFK we are discussing Balance in class. When people think of balance, typically they stand on one leg and hop around for a few seconds. While physical balance is important (especially during a martial arts practice) we like outline a deeper meaning to the word.
When we discuss balance in class we like to focus on life balance. This includes balancing exercises, balancing dietary choices, and balancing productive focuses with with leisure time. It is important to diversify our lives, not allowing our attention to be too heavy in one single direction. Being too involved in one thing is never good and balance is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
To our students, your challenge this week is to sit down and see how well your life is balanced. Look at all the different pieces of your life and see if any one thing takes over. Good luck!
