Our Word of the week this week is Charisma. When I hear someone is charismatic, I think of someone confident who knows how to control emotion. When you go and watch a comedian live, he is using charisma to reel the audience in to his stories. Simply saying something happened as opposed to adding excitement, enthusiasm, and suspense makes the experience different. Leaders are influential. Leaders motivated and encourage others to follow or to aspire to rise like them. Charisma is that secret sauce that separates someone you listen to and are invested in rather than begrudgingly following and with no passion. Charisma can be learned with the right attitude. It takes passion and belief in one’s self that they can influence and persuade others to go and chase what they want and to create a sense of self-belief in others. This week make a list of your favorite people (actors, parents, teachers, etc…) and ask yourself how are they charismatic, funny, engaging? What draws you to them and to like or love them?
