This week at EFK (as we approach Halloween month) we like to discuss safety as a huge priority. When we discuss safety in karate, we are not usually talking about wearing a helmet or knowing an emergency phone number. Those things are extremely important, but in karate we discuss being aware of your surroundings as the main way we can stay safe. Take for example, what everyone knows to do before crossing a road. Everyone knows, before you cross a road, you look both ways to be aware of the presence of any cars. Many situations can be made safer by simply being aware of potential dangers in the area.
This week, we challenge our students to try and be more aware of the things around them to improve their daily safety!
