11/18 Black Belt Updates

Fundraising Reminder

At this point we are still missing around 10 students registering for the Kickathon campaign. If you are not yet registered for 'Givebutter' you MUST register ASAP please follow this link: https://givebutter.com/2EW0o3/join

At this point all candidates should be working hard for their goal of $350 raised for TMS. The Kickathon will be held on December 6th, so we only have a few weeks to tackle this requirement. In addition to creative fundraising methods, feel free to email the link or share on social media as well.

Testing Packages (Overdue)

There are still a few students who have not yet processed their testing invoices. These are now overdue and must be taken care of today. If you are having trouble or have not yet received an invoice, please email us ASAP so we can get things squared away.

Attendance reminders

Please remember, now that we are in full swing for testing students are expected to maintain a 2 day per week attendance average as well as hitting their attendance totals each month. If you have conflicts, are sick, or otherwise will be missing a regular attendance point, please ensure you have a plan to make up those classes.

December 6th

The first mandatory candidate class will be held on December 6th prior to the Kickathon, at 11:00am at the Hilton of Woburn's Ballroom. The Fitness assessment, Kickathon, and stage rehearsal will also take place on this date so please make sure you are in attendance. Please plan on arriving a few minutes early, without your sparring gear or weapons, and with a water bottle.

Kata Reminders

The first Kata check up for all students will be no later than this Saturday, November 22nd for all students. Brown belts will be expected to be at no less than 6 moves on their creative Kata. If you have questions on how to create a kata please watch the following video on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/Gkaq5JyAz3Y

In addition students must be up to date and practicing all of their 'under belt' katas. Both degrees and brown belts will be asked to demonstrate all EFK Kata's on the exam, with the expectation they will be at an acceptable level for your rank.

Fitness

Students MUST be regularly training their fitness from this point on. Major fitness items include: Jumping Jacks, Pushups, Planks, Wall Sits, Squat Thrusts, and Running. If you do not yet have a daily plan to build up your totals for the exam, we would recommend setting that up THIS WEEK so that you remain on the correct track.
