We have a big Saturday ahead of us for all candidates and are excited to close out the first month of testing! Weekly reminders are as follows:
Saturday, December 6th
This weekend marks a major checkpoint for our testing process. The mandatory candidate class event is beginning at 11:00 am and will be broken down into two parts, listed below. There will be additional events which are optional to attend with that schedule listed as well. Candidates may wear whatever uniform they prefer, must bring a water bottle & snacks (if you are there for the full day), and should NOT bring any sparring or weapons bags, unless participating in the super seminar event at 2pm. The Candidate classes this weekend WILL count towards your attendance averages!
MANDATORY EVENTS (all candidates including degrees)
11:00am-12:30pm - Black Belt Candidate Class, Fitness assessment, and Rehearsal
12:45pm-1:45pm - Kick-a-thon Black Belt Fundraiser event
Optional events (Same day & location)
8:00am - 9:00am - Kata Workshop (Current Black Belts and Degrees ONLY)
9:00am-10:30am - Leadership/EIT Training event
2:00pm-5:00pm - Super Seminar Event
Fundraising
Up to this point our fundraising teams have raise $12,000 towards our total goal of raising $20,000 for charity. For those who have made or surpassed your individual goal of $350, thank you for your hard work. There are still many of you who have not yet started collecting or are still working hard towards your goals. Please continue to work this week to complete this requirement.
Kata Checks
The next official kata check point needs to be completed prior to December 13th (12 moves minimum for brown belts). Please ensure you are practicing/building your katas regularly. Staying ahead of your minimum checkpoints is always encouraged so you do not fall behind should life get in the way. While working on your katas, please ensure to implement any feedback received as soon as possible.
Fitness
As mentioned above, part of this weekend's event will be a fitness assessment. Students should be prepared for all of their Black Belt exercises (minus the running). As a reminder, students should be regularly training all of their fitness requirements at home to ensure they meet the expectations and rigors of the exam process.
We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend. Please ensure you are on time and ready to work hard!
